Club Náutico Santa Eulalia - Inclusion and Conservation

Committed to Inclusion and Marine Conservation

At the Club Náutico Santa Eulalia (CNSE), the passion for the sea and sailing goes beyond mere navigation. Through initiatives like ‘Navegamos Todos’ and the ‘PO2idonia’ project, CNSE aims to become a benchmark in social inclusion and marine conservation, demonstrating how sport and environmental commitment can go hand in hand.

‘Navegamos Todos’ Project

‘Navegamos Todos’ arises as a response to the need to integrate people of all abilities into the sport of sailing. This project seeks to remove barriers and create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, and can enjoy the sea regardless of their physical, cognitive, or social abilities.

The goal is clear: to promote inclusion and diversity in sailing, providing opportunities for all participants, regardless of their abilities or limitations, to participate on equal terms. Adapted sailing not only fosters social integration and personal development but also enhances physical and cognitive skills, boosts self-esteem, and offers a unique connection with nature.

The ‘Navegamos Todos’ project includes monthly activities, coordinated in collaboration with the AMADIBA association and supported by specialized instructors. With a capacity of five students per class, this program teaches sailing while promoting values such as teamwork and autonomy.

PO2idonia Project - Club Náutico Santa Eulalia

PO2idonia is a sports and environmental project organized by the Club Náutico Santa Eulalia. Its goal is to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our environment and the role of sports in our health in a fun way, through sustainable sailing and kayaking.

The project is aimed at schoolchildren aged between 8 and 11 years, contributing to future generations that are more aware of the human impact on the planet.

Project Objectives

We promote the reconnection of society with nature and responsible practices in line with values and attitudes related to sustainability. This set of initiatives is summarized in three main actions:

  1. School Talks and Discussions: We will deliver relevant messages to children about social responsibility through the power of words.
  2. Coastal Cleanups: Identification and collection of waste.
  3. Sailing and Kayaking Activities: Encouraging basic sports, introducing participants to nautical sports, and basic knowledge of sailing and kayaking as sustainable sports.
School Participation

CNSE has organized the project so that interested schools can participate in the following ways:

  • Talks and Discussions: Experts will visit schools to offer talks on critical topics such as the impact of plastics on our oceans, the importance of responsible consumption, global warming, and marine biodiversity preservation.
  • Outings and Workshops: Include coastal cleanups, recycling and sustainability workshops, as well as creating murals and crafts that reflect environmental conservation values.
  • Introductory Sailing and Kayaking Course: Offers participants the chance to learn the basics of these nautical sports, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, discipline, and respect for the environment.
Project Details

The project runs over three days, spread out over several months to accommodate different schools. The sessions are scheduled from 09:30h to 13:00h, with dates available from February to May.

With a very symbolic fee per student, ‘PO2idonia’ is an exceptional opportunity for local children to engage in activities that are both educational and fun, and to connect with the sea and their surrounding environment.

Join Us!

Through these lines, CNSE encourages all members, friends, and supporters to join these initiatives, participate, support, or simply spread the word. Together, we can make a significant difference, not only in our lives but also in the world around us.

THE IMPORTANCE OF CARING FOR THE SEA

Importance of Caring for the Sea

The ocean is the largest habitat in the world, covering 70% of the planet's surface. It is home to over 250,000 identified species, but in reality, millions are likely present, as only about 10% of ocean organisms have been studied.

Additionally, it purifies water, regulates the planet's temperature, and absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere.

PLASTICS, THE GREAT MARINE PROBLEM

Plastic Problem

The first plastic was invented in 1907, and around 1950, approximately 2 tons of plastic were produced annually. Today, more than 450 million tons are produced each year.

Approximately 8 million tons end up in the ocean annually, equivalent to 1 truckload of waste every minute.
